Refund Policy
Downward Facing Doula LLC
At Downward Facing Doula, LLC, we are deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality support to families. Due to the nature of our services, time, and availability commitments, the following refund policy applies to all services and products.
Birth Doula Services
A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your due date and secure on-call availability. This retainer covers time spent on client intake, prenatal support, scheduling limitations, and on-call commitment. If the client cancels services more than 30 days prior to the estimated due date, any payments made beyond the retainer may be eligible for a partial refund, minus services already rendered. If the client cancels within 30 days of their due date, all payments made are non-refundable due to on-call scheduling and lost opportunity to serve other clients. If the doula is unable to attend the birth due to circumstances beyond control (such as precipitous labor, medical emergency, or hospital restrictions), no refund will be issued, as prenatal support, preparation, and on-call availability have been fully provided. In the rare event the doula must cancel services, all unused payments will be refunded in full.
Postpartum Doula Services
Pre-purchased postpartum packages and sessions are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of that session. Unused sessions expire 6 months postpartum, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Yoga Classes, Workshops & Events
All yoga classes, series, workshops, and special events are non-refundable. Class credits may be issued for cancellations made at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled class time. Missed classes or late cancellations are not eligible for refund or credit.
Educational Services & Consultations
Childbirth education, lactation counseling, and virtual consultations are non-refundable once booked. Sessions may be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice.
Payment Plans
Payment plans are binding agreements and must be completed regardless of changes in birth outcome, timing, or hospital policies. Missed or late payments may result in pause or termination of services.
Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected life events happen. Requests for exceptions due to medical emergencies, pregnancy loss, or extreme circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with compassion and discretion.
